Couples Massage and the Dynamic Duo in Yuma: What Happens in the Room

Booking a massage for two sounds simple, but a few questions come up fast. Will we be in the same room? Do we each get our own therapist? What's the difference between the two couples options? Here's how it works at Fluid Energies Inc. in Yuma.

What a couples massage is

A couples massage is a massage for two people, at the same time, in the same private room, on two separate massage tables, performed by two massage therapists. That's the whole idea. You're side by side, you each have a therapist, and the room is yours for the length of the session.

Because there are two therapists, you each get full attention. Nobody waits their turn. You can also tell your own therapist what you want. One of you may like firm pressure while the other prefers it light, and that's fine. Each person talks to their own therapist, so there's no compromise on pressure.

Who it's for

Couples massage is a good fit for anniversaries and birthdays, or simply to relax together. If the two of you simply want to share a quiet hour, it fits that too. Tell us the occasion when you book.

The Dynamic Duo

The Dynamic Duo is our second couples option. It combines energy healing and massage with doTERRA essential oils. Fluid Energies is a doTERRA Wellness Advocate, so the oils are part of what we do.

About the oils: if either of you is sensitive to fragrance, has allergies, is pregnant, or has a health condition, mention it when you book. Some treatments may not suit certain health issues, and your doctor is the best source for advice about essential oils and your situation.

How to choose between 50 and 80 minutes

Fifty minutes is enough time to settle in and get a focused, satisfying massage. It's a good choice if this is your first time or you're fitting it into a busy day. Eighty minutes gives you more breathing room. It suits an occasion like an anniversary, or anyone who knows they like to take their time.

If you're torn, think about what comes after. Do you have dinner plans, or somewhere to be? A longer session is nice when you can drift off afterward instead of rushing back to work.

Getting ready

A few simple steps will make your visit go smoothly. Arrive 15 minutes early so you can both fill out the intake form. Turn your phones off when you walk in. Mention any health issues when you book, and check with your doctor if you're unsure.

About that policy: you can cancel with 24 hours notice at no charge. Under 24 hours, there's a charge of 50%. If you don't show, it's 100%. With two people on the schedule, we hold two therapists for you, so we ask you to call as early as you can if plans change. Also, we're not responsible for lost items, so keep your valuables at home. When you're done, take a few minutes before heading out. Stand up slowly, have some water, and let the evening be easy if you can.
