Thai massage in Yuma

Acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and assisted yoga postures, done clothed on a mat.

Acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and assisted yoga

Thai massage, also called Thai yoga massage, is “an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.” It is a different kind of session from an oil massage on a table, and it is worth knowing that before you book. If you have only had Swedish, expect a more active hour.

Your therapist guides you through a series of full-body stretches and adds deep pressure-point work. The postures are assisted, which means the therapist moves you into them and you do not need to be flexible or know any yoga. You stay in a stretch only as long as you are comfortable, and you can say so at any time.

From foot reflexology to the Royal

The Thai menu starts at the feet with Thai Foot Reflexology and goes on to Traditional Thai Massage, the full-body session. Hot Herbal Thai Compress and Herbal Thai Facial Compress bring warm herbal compresses into the treatment, and the Royal Thai Massage (Head to Toe + Hot Stones) is the one that combines head to toe work with hot stones.

Most are priced for 25, 50 or 80 minutes. The Hot Herbal Thai Compress and the Royal Thai Massage are listed at a single price, $135 and $130, so ask the front desk what time they include. The full menu is just below, exactly as listed on our Thai page, and the pricing page carries the other menus for comparison.

What to wear, and what happens on the mat

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Thai massage is done clothed, on a mat, so there is nothing to undress for and nothing to oil. Come 15 minutes early for the intake form, and turn off your cellphone before the session starts. Think of what you would wear to a gentle class, and you will be close.

Tell your therapist about any injuries before you begin, and again if anything pulls during a stretch. The stretches are guided, so the therapist sets the pace with you rather than for you. No Membership Needed. You can book a single Thai session at the posted price, then decide later whether a membership makes sense for you.
