Prenatal massage in Yuma

A massage for the mother-to-be, propped and cushioned with positioning pillows, aimed at feet, ankles, low back and neck.

Pillows and cushions do the supporting

Prenatal massage is a nurturing massage that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be during pregnancy. The part you notice first is the setup. Positioning pillows and cushions are used to enhance and support, decrease pressure, and increase relaxation for both body and mind. For many people, that is the difference between lying still and actually resting.

That support is the point of the session. Instead of holding yourself in place on a flat table, you are propped and cushioned so your body can let go. Your therapist is one of our Arizona Board licensed massage therapists, and you can ask about positioning before you lie down.

Feet, ankles, low back and neck

The work is aimed at the places that carry the most stress: relief of stress on feet, ankles, low back and neck, as well as reducing swelling. Those are the areas many mothers-to-be tell us about first, and a prenatal session spends its time there rather than spreading evenly over the whole body.

How much time you spend on the table is your choice. Prenatal sits on our traditional massage menu at 25, 50 and 80 minutes, with the same prices as the other traditional sessions. A shorter visit can be enough for sore feet and ankles. A longer one leaves room for the low back and neck as well.

What to tell the front desk when you book

When you call, tell the front desk how far along you are and anything your doctor has told you. That gives your therapist what they need before you arrive, and it lets us talk through the session with you instead of surprising you on the table. We do not give medical advice, and a massage is not a replacement for your doctor.

Our own policy is plain: some spa treatments may not suit certain health issues, so discuss yours at booking. Ask any question you have then, whether it is about pressure, positioning or timing. If you are also curious about a quieter style of session, our energy work page describes the hands-off options.

Booking a prenatal visit

Prenatal is priced the same as Swedish, aromatherapy, deep tissue and sports on our traditional massage page, so the choice is about what your body needs that day, not the cost. Every price we publish sits together on the pricing page.
